BI Data Analyst - Insurance

I am currently supporting my client in the recruitment of a BI Data Analyst. This role directly supports the Lead developer in a small team so lot's of exposure to various ongoing projects. My client are an established Lloyd's Insurance Business based in the City of London. My client use Tableau & SQL so prior experience in those would be advantageous as would insurance experience.

Overview on the role:

Play a key role in developing and shaping the companys Business Intelligence offering.
Gathering reporting requirements and creating reports/dashboards using Bl reporting tool (Tableau) whilst ensuring information is reconciled and accurate.
Data querying and manipulation.
Monitor and audit data quality.
Set up and maintain automated data flows and ETL jobs.
Ensuring data synchronisation is being performed successfully and working with third parties to resolve any issues
Producing documentation for users and on-going internal support.
Facilitating user acceptance testing and logging issues where necessary
Assistance with user support and providing training to non-technical users
Accurate and timely preparation of daily and monthly reports and service the need for adhoc reports when required.
Organizing and chairing meetings/workshops with business users and senior stakeholders.
Person specification

Minimum of 1 years data analyst experience (ideally within insurance broking)
Preferred knowledge of Bl reporting tools such as Tableau, Qlik or Power BI.
Preferred SQL scripting experience writing queries, data extraction and data warehouse
Excellent numerical and analytical skills
Able to engage with users and stakeholders at all levels.
An appreciation of current IT technologies and able to discuss and explain to stakeholders.
Authority and skill to establish good working relationships at all levels of seniority within the company.
Takes initiative when appropriate and ensures that the correct people are involved to reach a suitable decision.
Attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication
Intermediate excel knowledge
Critical thinking and problem solving
Strong analytical skills
A key interest in the Finance area of a business would be beneficial
