Purpose:

Responsibilities in the role are split between managing the change agenda for the Data Management Team (DMT) and our business customers as well as providing support to the Asset and Market data leads on BAU reporting and data maintenance through the monthly cycles. The ideal candidate will should be self-starting and a critical thinker, able to manage concurrent priorities and effectively manage multiple stakeholders. Examples of specific activities are provided below.

Principal Accountabilities:

Manage the DMT change agenda:

  • Work closely with business unit suppliers, DMT colleagues, downstream business customers (e.g. Finance, Risk, Actuarial) and dedicated IT support to document new requirements, design solutions and deliver technical system and process changes.
  • Manage the end to end delivery of change, liaising with business customers and IT to understand delivery timelines, following a structured project style model to ensure change is implemented effectively in a controlled manner to budget and on time.
  • Actively support user acceptance testing.

Support the market data and asset reporting processes which deliver data into statutory, regulatory and internal management reporting processes:

  • Analyse data completeness, accuracy and consistency levels of business unit data submissions, ensuring these aspects of data quality are actively managed.
  • Investigate data issues and ensure these are managed effectively with appropriate resolution.
  • Research and analyse ad hoc data requests on behalf of the business utilising Bloomberg.
  • Preparation of monthly management information reporting

Risk management

Ensure that key risks regarding data are understood and controlled effectively.

Core Competences Required:

Business Technical:

  • Experience in documenting and designing data system/process change.
  • Experience of working with Agile and waterfall delivery.
  • Strong data analysis skills, ideally with strong data management experience.
  • Broad understanding of the investment industry.
  • Solid understanding of investment products including derivatives.
  • Ability to use SQL to investigate data.
  • Advanced Excel and Word required; PowerPoint experience would be beneficial.

  • Microsoft Visual Basics for Applications (VBA)
