Business Data Analyst

You will be joining a Jarmany team working with one of our Financial Services clients to help deliver on several key regulatory programmes. You must have a strong technology background (SQL, Excel etc) and it will be highly desirable if you have commodity product knowledge. Role will work on multiple regulatory initiatives to facilitate data requirements for the team and across business functions. It is a very agile working environment with multiple projects being worked on simultaneously for data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.

Business Data Analyst Responsibilities:

• Support the timely and accurate regulatory reporting via various system platforms.
• Work with relevant teams to ensure data gaps/discrepancies are addressed.
• Supervising junior team members.
• Coordination of responses to regulatory data requests.
• Writing complex scripts with multiple joins in SQL. Ability to easily interpret existing logic and identify improvements to current processes/data flows.
• Confident segmenting large data sets and comfortable articulating and presenting findings to stakeholders.
• Gathering requirements from business leads and provide solutions to their proposals.
• Compose business requirements documents (BRD) for new requests.

Business Data Analyst Requirements:

• Educated to degree level.
• 5 years' experience in a similar role.
• Exposure to Financial Services and/or working on projects or programmes in a regulatory business environment
• Strong SQL experience.
• Highly proficient in use of Excel for data analysis.
• Excellent PMO hygiene (plans, status reports, RAID logs, etc.).
• Able to accurately review and synthesise large amounts of data.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Able to operate independently, prioritise own workload as necessary and deliver to tight deadlines.
• Comfortable in a fast-moving environment which may require assumption of additional tasks outside key areas of responsibility at short notice.
• Pro-active and able to demonstrate initiative.
• Able to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders and manage expectations with respect to delivery on the basis of accurate assessment of both capacity and priorities.
• Confident in dealing with stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
• Unafraid to raise questions to both confirm understanding and test the logic of facts as presented.

Terms of Employment: 6-12 Month Fixed Term Contract
