Business Data Analyst - Lloyds Insurance Market

Lloyds and European Insurance company are looking for Business Data Analyst (ideally with Actuarial Data or Maths/Statistics experience) to help unify view of required data, appropriate level of data and accuracy across appropriate platform.

To ensure presentation of data and the business logic applied is understood by Data Consumers (avoiding mistrust/non-use of data). Implement a continual/iterative process that facilitates the improvement of data quality.

Role Objectives

  • Consolidate a working view of target data collected across Portfolio Risk
  • Facilitate, through cross functional working groups, a view of data quality and a process to continually improve.
  • Interpret, Document and Translate Business Requirements for Data Presentation or Dashboards
  • Facilitate prioritisation of individual requests to either provide or improve data.
  • Maintain Data Flow Diagrams and Data Dictionaries


  • Facilitate working groups that would identify, categorise and prioritise data requirements across Local and Global maintaining the data dictionary, high level validation requirements and data flows.
  • Support onboarding of new Programs particularly where new data attributes exist.
  • Gather data requirements and model them into standardised presentation views and/or dashboards (if standardised)
  • Identify up/down stream dependencies that may impact the changes required
  • Facilitate iterative and continual feedback sessions between Data Producers, Consumers and IT teams
  • Support Data Producers (and IT if not system configurable) in improving prioritised Data Quality requirements
  • Support Business Users identification of business change activities including training, process change and communication
  • Pre-validate solutions with data solutions prior to business validation
  • Work with Business/Solution Analyst to identify any features required to improve the Application Framework

Skills Required

  • PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU HAVe: Similar experience of designing and delivering improved consolidated Data process thriough business understanding and analysis
  • Lloyds or London Market Insurance experience
  • Maths, Computer Science or Actuarial background
  • Knowledge of SQL structures
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Critical Thinking
  • End User Data Visualisation - Tableau & Excel
  • Working knowledge of Python, R and Power BI
