We're recruiting a Pricing & Data Analyst to work for one of the UKs largest timber distribution and manufacturing groups.

With an extensive distribution network throughout the UK our client serves a diverse customer base within the Construction sector with a full range of the highest quality timber materials, sheet materials, panel products and engineered wood products / timber products.

The successful Pricing / Data Analyst candidate will be responsible for analysing pricing across all areas of the business including all brands, products, product groups and customer categories, and identifying trading patterns, margin opportunities, and opportunities for better price management.

The objective is the provision of meaningful, clear, and concise pricing data to business managers for investigation, analysis and better decision making.

Data Analyst Responsibilities:

Conduct regular reviews of existing pricing to identify opportunities for improved profitability
Using both internal and external data to improve demand modelling and develop commercial pricing strategies using either Python or R
Support the new product development team to ensure competitive pricing strategies
Model complex business and pricing simulations with pricing elasticity in mind
End to end profit analysis on product, customer, price bands
Regular reporting on pricing decisions and the subsequent impact on the P&L
Support with an overview of the competitor landscape evaluation price comparisons
Generating Insight: you will help to generate insight to make commercial decisions and strategic changes to prices to meet budget requirements
Creation, population and maintenance of manager pricing dashboardRequirements:

Prior experience working in an Analysis role, ideally in Pricing
Experience using Excel, SQL
Excellent numeracy skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced role with limited supervision at times
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience preferred
