Location: Flexible but with regular travel to London
Salary: Excellent DOE

You are a client facing, commercial data analyst (DA) or statistician who is looking for an interesting DA role working on unique client driven data projects. At Axco we provide data analysis to a variety of organisation across the globe and as a result we are looking to hire a data analyst who is comfortable being involved in commercial conversation including taking client briefs, scoping out the data requirements ensuring the end result is a data set suitable for the client needs and budget.

You have advanced Excel and PowerBi skills and are used to analysing Insurance market data or similar.

If you enjoy working with product development teams, supporting the planning and strategy in terms of data sets that would be of value to our customers, this could be just the thing for you as you will be using your knowledge of the Insurance market to obtain and analyse relevant data leading to suggestion for relevant new data driven products.

Main Purpose of Role
On a day to day basis you will be working with the commercial team, identifying and fulfilling bespoke client data projects. This will involve you interpreting and responding to client enquiries/requirements ensuring the data we provide to them is fit for purpose, accurate and value for money.

You will participation in client meetings/demonstrations, taking part in conversations relating to requirements, pricing and potential new offerings.

Along with your day to day work, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the evolution of Axco's data strategy including assisting with:
- The identification of prospective markets and clients
- The identification and creation of marketable data sets

Skills and Experience Required
- Experience in interpreting insurance financial statements, understanding of insurance financial information, such as financial statements, company accounts, and other sector data. Understanding of wider insurance business information, such as economic data, demographic data, political events etc.
- Experience in analysing insurance financial data, such as company profit and loss results, balance sheets, underwriting statements, using industry knowledge
- An interest in the commercialisation of data and potential revenue streams
- An ability to interact and support prospects and clients throughout the data sale
- The ability to identify target markets and users for specific data sets.
- Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Strong data analysis skills
- Comfortable in dealing with large sets of data
- Knowledge of BI tools (e.g. PowerBI), data visualisation and SQL is advantageous

You will also need:
- Strong academic achievement, preferably university degree
- Exposure to multinational insurance industry or similar
