Contract Principal Statistician

Global Pharma, 12 month contract, Fully home based positioning, London based offices

Your new company

Hays Life Sciences are partnered with a leading Global Pharma to assist with the mass expansion of their Global Biostatistics function. Currently they are searching for a Principal Statistician to join their Late Phase department on a long term contract basis and become the project lead for several high profile studies.

The business have one of the largest and most exciting Late Phase portfolios in the industry as they have had several innovative studies move into Phase III and are set to launch over 8 studies in the next year. This role would see you become a vital part to most of these studies.

Your new role

  • Supervise the statistical input in one or more individual clinical studies within either one or across several clinical programs.
  • Provide expert guidance on study design and statistical input on all aspects of analysis, interpretation of findings and reporting of results.
  • Give technical and strategic oversight of outsourced CRO deliverables
  • Plan, Produce and/or review statistical deliverables for a submission or other regulatory interactions.
  • Perform and oversee the exploratory statistical analysis to gain novel insight that can be used to help inform the development of existing or new compounds.
  • Work effectively in cross-functional teams within and outside the Biometrics department
  • Ensure the implementation of company standards by all biostatisticians contributing to the project.


What you\'ll need to succeed

  • Several years\' experience within Biostatistics in the Biotechnology and/or Pharmaceutical Industry (including clinical research organizations) or relevant academic role
  • Ability to serve as a senior or principal statistical expert in cross disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Good knowledge of SAS and/or R programming.
  • Good knowledge in visualization and simulation techniques.
  • Able to work under pressure and without supervision.

This is an extremely unique opportunity as a contractor as you will have the opportunity to be a major contributor to the companies Global Statistics function rather than solely working on hands on responsibilities.

The role is offering an hourly rate much higher than market average, in the region of £60-£75 per hour and are also offering flexible home based positioning. This would also be on an initial 12 month contract and like many other contractors within the department, will have the offer to extend for a number of years.
