Data Analyst - 6 Month Contract Inside IR35 £155 per day (Umbrella) £204 per day (PAYE) - York/Remote SQL / Oracle / Microsoft Access / Power BI / Excel
£155 Per Day + £18.70 Per Day Holiday Pay (PAYE) £204 Per Day (Umbrella)
Experienced Data Analyst who will analyse and disseminate operational performance data spanning the range of the organisations' competences from management to licensing. You will report to the Head of Business Intelligence and engaging closely with colleagues across the organisation, to understand their needs and tailor solutions appropriately.
Knowledge, skills and experience - essential criteria:
* Relevant experience in a data science, statistical or allied quantitative profession (e.g. economics, operational research, social research).
* Working across disciplines and teams to achieve common goals.
* Use of database systems (e.g. SQL, Oracle, Microsoft Access).
* Experience developing and maintaining reports and dashboards using business intelligence/reporting tools. PowerBI is desirable.
* Significant Experience using MS Excel.
* Excellent communication skills.
Desirable criteria:
* Experience working with specialist analytical software (e.g. R, SPSS, SAS, Minitab).
* Project management experience (preferably Agile).
* Experience working with or within the public sector and/or government.
* Familiarity of working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial data.
* Familiarity with the UKSA Code of Practice for Official Statistics.
Professional skills or qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree (or international equivalent) in Data Science or a subject with a large data science component (e.g. mathematics, statistics, physical, computing or natural sciences, economics, psychology).
* Candidates without such qualifications must possess at least 3 years of demonstrable professional experience working in a data science, database management, statistical or allied analytical role (e.g. economics, operational research, social research) with evidence of continuous professional development of data science skills to a professional level
