The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.

Job Description

Data Analyst

Would you like to join an established data and analytics hub and shape the future of data services? We
currently have a vacancy for a Data Analyst to be based at our site in Preston.

As a Data Analyst, you will undertake data reviews and testing, support the scoping of business process
and data flow rules, and design reports and visualisations to help generate business insights for our
stakeholders. You will be working on a range of data from BAE Systems, which could include HR,
Procurement and Financial data.

This role will provide you with an opportunity to play a key role in generating business and enterprise
wide insights that impact at both an operational and strategic level.

Your main responsibilities as a Data Analyst will involve:
Developing and utilising dashboards, reports, infographics, presentations and/or conducting 1:1 and
group interactions to share information

Processing and utilizing data to analyse, monitor and report performance at all levels of the organization
from multiple databases and information sources

Building and maintaining a network of stakeholders within the business, and demonstrating the value
data and analytics hub engagement

Using data and relevant information to make recommendations for improvements

Supporting senior analysts in collaborating with stakeholders to define and scope requirements,
objectives and design a product which delivers on these

Maintaining an awareness of applicable practice, company standards and contract/regulatory requirements

Your skills and qualifications:

We are developing an adaptable team, so we're looking for individuals with experience in any of the
following tool sets:

Tableau
Tableau Prep
Alteryx
SQL
SuccessFactors

Essential:

Advanced MS Excel skills

Experience in Data Visualisation/Data Preparation/Data Insights

Report building and familiarity with relational databases

Ability to support stakeholders in the definition and scope of their requirement, and exploit best practice
design principles to achieve the required outcome(s).

Ability to structure data insights and present key findings to stakeholders

Willingness to develop advanced skills though training and application in a wider range of tools e.g.
PowerBI and other analytical approaches

Self-motivated and enthusiastic, with a positive attitude

Desirable

A degree or equivalent qualification in Data Science/Mathematics/Computer Science/Economics or
relevant discipline

SFx (SuccessFactors eXpert) accreditation - SAP SuccessFactors Legacy Reporting Tools and
Administration (Canvas, Table, and Dashboards)

SFx (SuccessFactors eXpert) accreditation - SAP SuccessFactors People Analytics: Story Reporting

Familiarity with SuccessFactors People Analytics functionality

Knowledge and understanding of VBA and SQL
