Working at the heart of Lidl's Import team, you'll find our busy and dynamic specialist team, continuously improving processes and finding ways to better service Lidl's millions of customers. We thrive on creating the best solutions to complex and ever-changing challenges and we're looking for a Data Analyst (Consultant) to join us!

With the important task of visualising our inbound process with data for our vast supply chain, you will be part of the team that enables Lidl's flow of goods to run seamlessly. Your input as a team player and import professional, will have a direct impact on our operations, stores, and millions of customers.

In Import, no two days are the same, as a Data Analyst with the Import team, you will constantly be bringing solutions to new and interesting challenges. As a Master of Data, you will be creating game changing dashboards, own our data quality process and create leading edge analysis for large projects.

Your brilliant data management skills will make it easy to send the right message to our directors, as well as brokers/freight forwarders. This is a fast paced, dynamic position where you'll need to take a both an analytic and pragmatic approach to helping us solve problems to ensure our supply chain stays best in class.

This role is currently based in our Wimbledon Head Office but will move to our brand new state-of-the-art building in Tolworth in September 2021.

Please note: your contractual job title will be "Consultant" in line with our internal role structures

What you'll do

  • Analysing and matching complex data sets from different systems to produce strategic reporting
  • In depth analysis of system data to identify where cost time and efficiency improvements
  • Creation of dashboards, bespoke reports and data driven overviews
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders including customs brokers, freight forwarders and suppliers
  • Planning and managing multiple complex projects in a deadline-driven environment
  • Producing end to end documentation for all processes reflecting operational practices
  • Understanding the objectives of our operational and project work, their impact on the business and driving solutions to business-critical issues
  • Supporting senior leadership with reporting and statistics
  • Building the necessary controls and processes around our Import systems data flows
  • Solving problems to key issues proactively and escalating in a timely manner to leadership
  • Training and coaching colleagues in systems and processes

What you'll need

  • Passion for working with numbers and data and excellent analytics skills
  • Extensive experience with MS Office Application Suite with advanced skills in Excel
  • PowerQuery / VBA macro skills are advantageous
  • Powerful influencing and communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues across all levels of the business
  • Strong project management skills to be able to work collaboratively with a range of business departments to complete a project successfully
  • Detail orientated and able to manage tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Understanding of different organisations' supply chain and the flow of master data
  • Excellent IT skills preferably with experience of SAP or other ERP/Transport Management Systems
  • Experience within customs, import or logistics is beneficial
  • An understanding of the variety of documentation needed to import food and non-food items is beneficial
  • German language skills are not essential but advantageous
