Data Analyst
About this role
As a Higher Information Analyst you will play a key role in product implementation and utilisation and reporting for a number of NHS Digital's high-profile programmes. You will work as part of a close-knit team often working to tight deadlines, in a supportive and collaborative environment. Regular interaction with stakeholder groups (such as senior responsible owners and regionally based NHS staff) is also a feature of the role.
As part of the role you will be responsible for:
maintaining existing datasets and analytical outputs
including designing and building appropriate database structures and associated extract, transform and load (ETL) processes.
working with stakeholders to develop bespoke analytical solutions.
keeping abreast of new technologies to shape future analytics.
responding to queries regarding the team's data outputs
analysis of large and often complex datasets.
About You
Educated to a post graduate diploma level in a numerate discipline, or an equivalent level of knowledge.
Strong analytical and requirements gathering skills, being able to apply the results to the given problem and suggest conclusions to be drawn.
Good working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases including using their advanced functionality (including database interrogation tools).
Understanding of customer needs and how to work in a way that promotes personal credibility and builds trust.
Understands a wide range of data quality issues and the application of the appropriate data validation techniques
Experience of Business Intelligence (BI) and visual analytics to develop and standardise sophisticated interactive presentations
Good communication skills - to discuss often complex issues with a variety of stakeholders
Ability to work in a team-orientated environment
