My prestigious insurance client is looking to recruit a Data Analyst with strong insurance knowledge coupled with strong experience in data governance and management. This is a new hire for a growing team. Good communications skills are required as is a friendly and collaborative approach to your work. This is a great opportunity for an individual with the correct skill set you join an up-and-coming Broker with the insurance markets

The focus of your role will be to work closely with the business units to provide business analysis services to your stakeholders. A key part of this role will be to communicate and assist stakeholders with understanding the information required to transact business efficiently in addition to outputs from various models.

You will be involved in a full range of activities from leading small to mid-size projects to assisting colleagues on larger more complex projects related to operational business functions that affect team members and providers at the market level.

Responsibilities:

Understanding of a client's business issues, insurance needs and expectations.

Working with different data sources, specifying the processing requirements and proposing solutions for correcting the data issues.

Collaborating with the Head of Data and Analytics, as well as other technical stakeholders, to document data processing requirements.

Carrying out data quality checks and maintaining data quality as well as formulating data validation tasks.

Assisting brokers with the Coverholder data journey to obtain better information.

Interpreting insurance data, analysing and explaining the results, often to non-technical audiences.

Supporting brokers with catastrophe modelled outputs with the intention that in the longer term this will also include 'as if'/optimisation modelling.

Demonstrated ability to instil confidence with clients so that the client looks to you and to the company as more than just a broker, but as a partner in business.

Awareness of areas where process enhancements could further develop the overall data and analytics strategy.

Responsibility for the development and co-ordination of the Data Analyst(s).

Coordinating the production of internal reports or presentation material which clearly explains necessary detail to clients, insurers and associates.

Gathering data from various sources and understanding import requirements and preparation, to data, analyse and validate results in a timely manner.

Assisting in providing and communicating catastrophe loss and exposure estimates to customers.

Supporting and sustaining profitable organisational growth by providing effective catastrophe analysis that identifies profitable areas to target and highlights unprofitable areas, as well as monitoring key catastrophe statistics and advising management of possible issues.

Proactively sharing knowledge in catastrophe-related areas, create learning experiences and fostering collaboration within the department.

Undertake any other responsibilities that may become necessary for the proper performance of the role.

Skills & knowledge:

Strong experience in data governance and management.

Experience with catastrophe modelling (data entry not necessarily a factor).

Experience in the use of tools for big data analysis.

Ability to communicate the results of analysis and present findings in a clear and effective manner to a wide audience.

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing with clients, insurers and other associates.

Strong SQL, DAX and Excel skills, including knowledge of spreadsheet applications and formula calculations.

In-depth experience working with a variety of data fields.

Ability to build and maintain good business relationships with clients, insurers and associates.

Data visualisation experience ie, Tableau, Power BI, Excel etc.

Professional and tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives.

Mathematical skills to assist with actuarial and loss forecasting analysis.
