In the role of Data Analyst, you will support the delivery, development and implementation of a new Oracle Cloud system to support finance and HR services, replacing Legacy systems and improving service delivery.

The key objective for this role is to ensure the data held on the current Oracle E-business Suite (FARM) is complete and correct. This will involve liaising with staff across the agency, especially within the Finance and Commercial Directorate, to ensure that existing data is correct and up to date. To update data held on FARM if required or produce mapping tables to transform the data prior to loading into Oracle Cloud. The post holders will also need to fully reconcile data extracted for loading into Cloud and confirm it\'s accuracy at each stage in the programme through to core go-live in April 2021. In addition, the postholder will play an active role in User Acceptance Testing of the new system.

Key Skills

  • Familiarity with a range of data handling techniques including confident use of a wide range of Excel formulae
  • Knowledge/use of Oracle BI
  • Experience of working with quantitative data to produce clear outputs (reports, graphs/visualisations)
  • Experience of working with the combination of quantitative and qualitative data to produce clear outputs (reports, graphs/visualisations)
  • Being able to engage with and contribute to the wider HR, Finance or analysis communities

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Establishing relationships with key stakeholders including Finance and Commercial colleagues, the People Directorate, as well as representatives of the wider agency in all Directorates to understand the current data and ensure these are accurate and up to date and is correctly transformed and loaded to the new system.
  • Running and building reports and enquiries on a range of workforce, financial and people data.
  • Using a range of analytical tools (predominantly within Excel and Oracle BI).
  • Producing clear analysis to identify any missing or anomalous data.
  • Building and maintaining a suite of templates to enable reconciliation of subsequent extract, transform and load processes
  • Acting as centre of expertise within the team, providing advice and direction to other teams as needed.
  • Other relevant duties as required by the line manager or functional head, as appropriate to existing skills and ongoing development.
