Role - Data Analyst - DATA SYSTEMS & CHANGE

Duration - 6 months

Location - Leeds

The DS&C team is a dynamic Business Intelligence team supporting the Insurance division to be the Best Bank for Customers. Working in a project scrum team, as part of the wider Department within Insurance, this is an opportunity for an individual with significant data analysis skills in combination with effective interpersonal skills.

Supporting the delivery of a regulatory change the candidate will use their skills to analyse and interpret source system data to extract and manipulate information that is required for downstream business processes

Making use of varied approaches to business analysis to drive business decisions and proven technical delivery, but will also be encouraged to use their capabilities to follow the authorised design and governance of the Insurance Finance operating model for Data Systems and Change.

Key Skills and Experience

• To gather and accumulate data from disparate sources, clean it, organize it, process it, and analyse it to understand data behaviour and patterns
• To write queries to extract data from the data warehouse.
• To create data definitions for new database files or alterations made to the already existing ones for analysis purposes.
• To present the findings in reports (in table, chart, or graph format) to help the management team in the decision-making process.
• To collaborate with Data Scientists to develop innovative analytical tools.
• To work in close collaboration with both the IT team and the business management team to accomplish company goals.
• Proactively develops and maintains customer relationships in order to meet current and future business needs
• Ability to manipulate data using available tools SQL,SAS, Scala, Spark

Desirable

• Knowledge of General Insurance business
• Evidence of working in a Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and writing associated documentation
• Experience of Waterfall or Agile project delivery approaches
