Swindon, Swindon, United Kingdom, £40,000 - £50,000 , Permanent

Description:

Our client is a dynamic and fast-growing business engaged in catalogue and online retailing from its base in Swindon. Having grown its online and offline business from £34 million to £48.5 million in 2020, the company is maintaining a high rate of growth in 2021 and is now looking to appoint a Data & Insight Analyst to work alongside the marketing team to further enhance and understand our customers and campaign performance.

This is a unique opportunity to join a successful, ambitious and innovative organisation committed to data based decision making, which you will shape and influence.

Working within the technical department and reporting to the Head of Data and Business Analysis, you will be responsible for the provision of detailed, actionable reporting and insight for the group. This will primarily be focussed on marketing and customer insights - however you will also work with other functions across the business.

We are an extremely data driven business and are always trying new things. You will be naturally curious, keen to explore datasets under your own initiative and to really get to know our brands and customers.

This is an incredibly rewarding role in which you will often undertake work on behalf of board members to assist in data driven decision making. You will be clear, concise, and passionate in your approach to answering questions and using data to tell a story.

Key responsibilities

* Develop a deep understanding of the company's customer base to support effective marketing and product merchandising strategies.

* Provide post-campaign analysis and insights to the marketing team and wider business.

* Using SQL, write queries to extract datasets that answer specific questions from key stakeholders.

* Be a key user and stakeholder of an in-house, bespoke database that provides a single customer view and is the engine of our marketing efforts - you will also work with developers on improvements.

* Work to optimise the marketing mix and improve customer targeting.

* Support the company's wider efforts to maintain data quality and data hygiene.

* Support the budgeting process using a mix of historical data and modelling of future customer behaviour based on marketing plans.

* An understanding of direct marketing would be a distinct advantage (but not a necessity) - for instance, the concepts of single customer view, segmentation, and lifetime value analysis.

* Excellent SQL querying skills are essential as well as experience of working with Microsoft SQL Server.

* Experience of using a business intelligence tool, preferably PowerBI and associated Microsoft technologies.

* Comfortable in engaging in discussion with and presenting to board level colleagues.

* Commercially minded with experience of working with different departmental functions in a high volume transaction, B2C business.

* Good Excel skills - able to use the tool to help present data in a meaningful and actionable format.
