Overview

Reporting to The Data Management Lead and guided by the Senior Data Analyst, the Data Analyst will liaise with business and technical stakeholders to understand the data assets that are required for the business to deliver services to clients, their shareholders and employees. The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge of the data necessary for Share Registration, Share Dealing and Share Plans, and will have analytical, technical and communication skills to model data requirements, query existing databases and collaborate with the business stakeholders and system developers.

Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities
  • This role is about making a difference and is unique in its opportunity to support significantly important legacy systems as well as learning how to meet the needs and demands of the business requiring access to data, relying on its integrity and utilisation and its role in facilitating features, functionality, transformation/movement and reporting.
  • Responsible for the analysis of data (design, integrity, extraction, transmission/transformation etc) for one or more projects across multi-disciplined teams, typically delivering specific product services or enhancing existing product features related to all aspects of data management.
  • Adept at understanding, articulating and documenting complex data requirements to diverse teams. Confident to lead workshops and presentations to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Act as an expert source of IT data requirements within the project and change teams and able to ensure that the development and support team members understand those requirements and the dynamics of the data.
  • Ensuring that the requirements are suitably distinct, focused and measurable in nature delivering into the appropriate tooling as required - VersionOne/Jira etc.
  • Able to utilise available data exploration tooling to analyse data in situ within pre-production environments and support DBAs understand the intricacies of data within Production systems as needed to support Incidents, Problems and issue resolution.
  • Reporting to the Data Management Lead for support, guidance and technical direction the Data Analyst role has been created to maintain and enhance our existing Corporate Markets systems - new features, projects and remediation work where of significance though skilled understanding of data in how it is held, structured, moved/transformed, the content and it's integrity.
  • The Corporate Market systems are more a legacy collective currently although beginning to advance towards group Application Architectural strategies (DSF). This role is important in continuing the transformation towards modern Application Architectures, i.e. data access methods need to be considered for abstraction purposes.
  • Whilst the stability, accuracy and functional correctness is core to this role it is imperative this role provides three key services:
  • To work with the PMO/CMO within the SDLC to ensure the data requirements are complete within Projects, Change Requests and other change triggers such as Incidents/Problem Records.
  • Translate Business Requirements into Technical documentation and guidance (relating to data) to drive the delivery colleagues to produce effective software or remediation of Incidents, Issues and Problems.
