IT Data Analyst

An opportunity to join our IT data governance and quality team as a Data Analyst - a core role in delivering our data strategy in IT.

Reporting to the Data Governance Manager, you will work as part of a talented team to support data quality and data governance projects across our business. You will develop your skills to help deliver, run and support the data steering groups. You will have a key role in profiling and cleansing our data to improve its quality. You will use tools to understand our data lineage and data cataloguing for business use. We care about data in our team and we want someone who loves all things data too.

Key responsibilities:

* In-depth analysis of data, identification of root cause, suggesting solutions to problems

* Working with other areas of IT to ensure data solutions align with business needs

* Maintaining data quality control measures and resolving anomalies

* Recommending data-centric solutions to business users and functions

* Preparing and maintaining processes that support data tasks such as steering groups and audits

* Preparing and maintaining processes associated with Master Data Management (MDM)

* Taking part in major projects (e.g. Migration, data cleansing) as and when required

About you:

* Good communication skills

* Good numeracy and literacy skills

* Excellent attention to detail

* Practical operational and/or systems experience

* Good organisational and administration skills

* IT literate and experienced with Microsoft Office products - particularly Excel, Power BI and Word

* Able to analyse high volumes of data

* The ability to work as part of a successful team, and on individual assignments

* A self-starter able to take on issues from analysis to solution

* Previous Analyst skills are desirable as is exposure to recognised data lineage, data cataloguing or data cleansing tools
