Role Summary

Reporting to the MI Manager and working in a team of data specialists to develop, manage & support the provision of information to customers and across the organisation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

* Perform daily, weekly and monthly support tasks according to priorities and schedules agreed with the MI Manager and business to ensure that the report production systems are reliable and accurate.

* Extract, collect and cleanse data from multiple sources and prepare this data into a structured form that can be used for data analysis.

* Apply statistical techniques to explore, find patterns and trends in data that can be used to drive business decisions.

* Assure the quality of data used in analysis to ensure that it is relevant and accurate.

* Collaborate with other Optima teams and our customers to understand their requirements, advise on the solution and deliver high-quality information.

Experience, skills and knowledge required for the role

* Data Cleansing and preparation - retrieve data from one or more sources and prepare the data so that it is ready for analysis.

* Data analysis and exploration - Transform and analyse data in order to answer a business question. Find trends or relationships in a data set that could bring value to the business.

* Statistics - A foundation in statistics to help guide analysis and exploration of data including descriptive, inferential and predictive analytics techniques.

* Data Visualisation - Create clean, visually compelling charts that can be easily interpreted.

* Dashboard and report development - Give our internal and external customers access to important data by building a wide variety of products. From simple charts and tables to complex interactive dashboards.

* Experience of T-SQL.

* Strong experience of developing reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI. Understanding of DAX and M.


* Knowledge of the Microsoft data stack; SQL Server, Reporting Services, Analysis Services, Master Data Services.

* Experience of building and supporting systems based on O365 and Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Apps, Teams etc.

* Scripting ability in at least two languages from; SQL, Python, PowerShell, or R.

* Knowledge of the Microsoft Azure data platform.
