The Data Analyst role

As part of our digital & data transformation journey we have increased our focus on how to improve the quality of our data and the analytics to drive our business forward both in terms of customers and key projects. In this role you will help to ensure that our data meets business strategy, reporting standards, project & customer expectations along with satisfying regulatory environments.

What will you do?

An individual contributor; the Data Analyst will maintain data according to defined policies and data standards. You will apply your knowledge of data governance principles and standard methodologies, including data nomenclature, data analytics, and data transformation, to ensure good data. Big areas of activities cover the following:

• Supporting data migration projects including scoping, planning and performing the work
• Apply your analytical skills to research data issues, identify root cause, and propose and implement solutions
• Use predictive modeling, statistics, trend analysis, and other data analysis techniques to assist with identifying and exploring internal and external data sources
• Support and use data management tools
• Aid with identifying data quality anomalies and identify trends and improvement opportunities- in particular with our 1C system
• Collaborate with business partners to ensure data and qualitative source data (lineage) is understood and embraced
• Communicate data standards, systems, and processes to those impacted
• Develop and maintain a demonstrable understanding of our systems and business processes

The ideal candidate

• Ideally a degree in a relevant field (Data Science, Mathematics, statistics, big Data) or equivalent experience
• At least 2 years developing transferable skills (e.g., data quality or governance, database management, business analyst, process improvement, project management)
• Experience with data governance a plus
• Experience working on major change projects (waterfall & agile) an advantage
• ERP experience a distinct advantage

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI or (SAP) Business Objects preferred
• Experience collecting, interpreting, and analyzing data for different stakeholders
• Analytical skills, with the ability to apply creative solutions to sophisticated problems
• Meticulous, organized, and capable of prioritizing and focusing as a responsible owner
• Independent achiever on activities where defined procedures are available
• Experienced in using Microsoft365 (Microsoft Teams, Excel, power BI)
