Data Analyst required by market leading, award winning utilities sector organisation based in Stroud, Gloucestershire. The client are happy for candidates to work between their home and the office on a flexible basis. The successful Data Analyst will need to have a background within Utilities, Energy/Renewable Energy/Solar etc, or a similar data environment.

The Data Analyst will take ownership of the data analysis requirements of the business to include the financial analysis and also the project management of upcoming projects. This includes ensuring the smooth running of projects and collection and analysis of data to identify trends to a number of stakeholders on potentially short timescales to allow the effective running of the business and key decision making.

Required Background:

  • 3+ years data analysis or related experience, including proficiency with analytical software or equivalent related education
  • Strong understanding of business information systems and demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database PC applications, proficiency in statistics, data analysis, and research methods
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in adaptability, decision making, customer service, interpersonal relations, oral communication, problem solving, teamwork, written communication, group presentations, group process facilitation, influence, results orientation, strategic thinking, and team building demonstrate leadership skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively share findings with shareholders
  • A solid understanding of data sources, data organisation and storage
  • The ability to pay attention to detail when working with data in order to make accurate conclusions and predictions
  • Ability to both take direction and work autonomously and set and meet deadlines to deliver on projects and data analysis
  • Full driving licence


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, computer science, management information systems, or related field or equivalent related experience


  • Mine and analyse large datasets, draw valid inferences and present and communicate effectively and successfully to management
  • Produce and track key performance indicators
  • Create data dashboards, graphs and visualisations
  • Gather, understand and document detailed business requirements using appropriate tools and techniques Develop, improve and support existing and new reporting processes
  • Monitor and audit data quality
  • Manipulate, analyse and interpret complex data sets relating to the business
  • Identify areas to increase efficiency
  • Work closely with the finance team to effectively manage the business and plan future strategy
  • Analyse issues and determine root causes

This fantastic role comes with a starting salary between £35,000-45,000 p/a and is accompanied with home working, free onsite parking, a company pension, sick/holiday pay and a discount/rewards scheme to name but a few.
