Location: Birmingham, B16

Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week (Permanent)

Salary: £34,680 per annum

We currently have a requirement for a qualified Data Analyst/Modeller to join our head office team and support the databases used by Housing 21 core applications including data models for use with Power BI. Working with the business to ensure data is accurate and available for business led data solutions including reporting, exception reporting and analytics.

This is a high profile, critical role within the Business Systems function, where you may be required to work extra hours during evenings and weekends if required by timescales or essential support. It may also be necessary to work extra hours to contribute to IS Service Level Agreements and IS Operational Level Agreements.

As Data Analyst, key responsibilities include:

• Working as part of the Development team be responsible for maintaining the data models and providing support of all aspects of Housing 21 data models in use across the business. Configure, update and document those Data Models ensure all output remain functional and stable.

• Support in translating Business Requirements into Data Output requirements from a variety of tools.

• Assist in troubleshooting data issues using the Toolsets available in order to resolve business critical issues relating to the delivery of MI

• Assist in automating delivery of outputs from all business systems in order to sustain and improve the delivery of MI

• Proactively work with the business to specify and develop Power BI Data Models for the purpose of reporting, exception reporting and Data Analytics.

• Continuously strive to improve knowledge and understanding of Housing 21 business systems so that the best possible service and support can be delivered to customers.

• Liaise with Business stakeholders and business analysts to research, analyse and document data modelling and data analysis requirements.

• Responsible for own Health and Safety, ensuring a safe working environment for colleagues

• Undertakes any other duties in line with the objectives of the post

The successful applicant will have the following experience and knowledge:

• MS SQL development experience, including Stored Procedures, Queries

• It is expected that the post holder will have a good understanding of extracting and modelling data held on Microsoft SQL Server databases and servers hosting databases

• Strong Understanding of R-SQL

• Understanding of set-based vs cursor based approaches in SQL

• Understanding of relational database design choices and implications

• MS VS

• Use of SQL profiler / running SQL traces

• Use of transactions in SQL

• Experience in interrogation of MS SQL application databases

• Database Query

• Report writing tools and methods

• Educated to Degree Level or equivalent experience

• GCSE Maths and English

• MS SQL Server 2008 / 2012 / 2016
