We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Protein Sequencing Team as a Scientific Data Analyst. As a core member of this early-phase research team, this individual will have a pivotal role in developing nanopore-based protein sequencing via in-depth analysis of electrical data, development of bioinformatics tools, and supporting experimental projects across the team.

The details…- Reporting to the Associate Director, Protein Sequencing, the Scientific Data Analyst will develop methods for exploratory analyses on a range of early-phase protein sequencing methods, including deploying machine-learning algorithms, identifying ways to feed back to iteratively improve the chemistry. - The ability to communicate with experimental scientists to propose a hypothesis, help plan an experiment, provide custom analysis to examine a dataset and refine the hypothesis is crucial, along with a strong understanding of scientific methods.

What we are looking for…Masters/PhD or equivalent experience / industry experience) in bioinformatics, computational biology/genomics, biology or related subjects - Proficient in python programming for developing analytical tools - Ability to visualize/interrogate large datasets using python (pandas, numpy, matplotlib) or R - Solid understanding of applied statistics and signal processing methods - Experience of operating in a Linux environment and workflow management (bash-based scripting or snakemake/nextflow, etc.) - Experience in handling next-generation sequencing data and familiarity of existing bioinformatics tools for data analysis would be desirable.
