About the project:

The Active Building Centre is an ambitious, high profile, project of national importance. Active Building Centre Ltd, a Government-backed Research and Technology Organisation (RTO), are collaborating with industrial and academic partners to mobilise and deliver applied research, product development, commercial engagement and the realisation of a comprehensive demonstrator portfolio. Our goal is to revolutionise construction through the deployment of active buildings - transforming the energy and construction industry through new innovative building design. Growing from the success of existing Active Buildings we are developing an ambitious portfolio of advanced multi sector demonstrators which are sustainable, perform better, are more comfortable and will significantly contribute to decarbonisation. About the role:

A data scientist is required to join a growing data analytics function within the renewable energy sector. The successful candidate will work closely with the data engineer to collate data from a range of real-world sources and apply modelling, analytical and machine learning techniques for the development of data analytics solutions. This is a broad role with exposure to many innovative renewable energy technologies, software tools and platforms.

Key Responsinilities:

1. Mine and analyse large datasets, draw valid inferences and present them successfully to management using a reporting tool.

2. Prepare reports for internal and external audiences using business analytics reporting tools 3. Work with event streaming platforms (Kafka, Confluent, Spark) 4. Any other duties as Directed by the CTO of Active Building Centre Ltd. (or their nominated representative).

Essential criteria:

* Qualifications & Experience: Educated to Degree level in a relevant technical field (Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics).

* A Minimum of 2 years experience within a data analytics function.

Knowledge and Skills:

* Ability to effectively extract, manipulate and interrogate large data sets to solve problems.

* Proficient in the use of analytical, database and visualisation tools (SQL, NoSQL, InfluxSQL, R, Python).

* Proficient in the use of AI modelling techniques such including regression, neural networks, genetic algorithms, fuzzy logic etc
