Financial Planning & Data Analyst

Up to £60,000

Canterbury, Kent

KESS Insurance Recruitment are working with the up-and-coming insurance broker in the south east. Proudly employing 60 staff and now looking towards a GWP of £30 million my client has an exciting new position of Financial Planning & Data Analyst.

This is a new role for the group and as such they require a candidate to provide focused financial data analysis to support strategic planning strategies to be implemented across the organisation.

High volume retail insurance or financial services experience would be preferred for any candidate to be considered.

The main aim of the Financial Planning & Data Analyst on a day-to-day basis would be:

  • Interpreting complex financial information and providing updates and information to the Senior Management Team
  • Preparing reports on a monthly and annual basis
  • Extensive use of Power Pivot, Power BI and data modelling to produce financial and KPI reports that enhance the productivity and efficiency of the organisation
  • Establishing methods and practices to minimise financial risk
  • Reporting on and analysing key metrics
  • Calculating cost-benefit analysis and presenting findings and recommendations to the Senior management on MI data platform
  • Reviewing and reconciling MI and reporting data to maximise efficiency and ensure consistency
  • Taking a lead role in new system implementation (Applied)
  • Seeking out methods and practices to minimise financial risk
  • Acting as a proactive and strategic member of the Senior Management Team
  • Developing and maintaining employee scorecard systems
  • Analysing the financial climate and market trends to assist the Senior Management Team in strategic planning

The ideal candidate will have strong data analysis experience within insurance or financial services and have a good understanding and working relationship with an accounts or finance department - accountancy qualifications (AAT or full/part CIMA/ACCA) would be preferred but not essential.
