Lead Data Analyst

On behalf of our client, we are recruiting a Lead Data Analyst to join a highly innovative consultancy who work across the Infrastructure sector and specialise in Project Controls & Planning across. There has never been a better time to join, the business is looking to double in size over the next couple of years, so there will be high potential for development and progression. This is a hybrid role with 2 days home working and 2-3 days in the Birmingham region.

You will deliver and support the production of KPIs, performance dashboards and management information in Power BI, provide insight and analysis to support decision making in line with programme objectives. Candidates with experience working within a Project Controls environment and/or from industry backgrounds such as rail, aviation, highways, power, utilities, nuclear, defence and civil engineering would be highly suitable.


* Managing reporting requirements and capturing the data to meet those specifications

* Performing complete data analysis and interrogation large complex datasets to deliver insights and recommendations

* Support Digital Transformation & Data Strategy, designing and developing tools to support data capture, validation, transformation, storage and reporting

* Create data visualisations and advanced analytics, extracting, transforming, integrating and managing large data sets

* Facilitating collaboration and communications with key stakeholders

* Change Management

* Introducing and developing new ideas and proposals to help drive the business forward


* Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field

* Minimum 5 years' relevant experience & strong understanding of databases, data modelling, and data analysis

* Understanding of systems at a technical level, including the ability to query data at a database level

* Coding skills in SQL and at least one other programming language

* Experience with Power BI including designing reports, Power Query, DAX and data model design

* Experience with one or more ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools

* Previous experience/knowledge of cost management systems

* Working knowledge of the Project Controls systems portfolio and the application of these tools

* Management experience

* Excellent communication and presentation skills

* Ability to adapt, work effectively under pressure & manage heavy workload

* Construction knowledge would be ideal but not necessary

Salary ranges between £50k - 60k depending on skills and experience, plus benefits.
