Research & Data Analyst - Property Investment / Asset Management - Client side - OUR CLIENT is a highly-successful independent investment management company that has specialised in commercial asset management for over a decade. Due to recent success and growth within the business, they are now looking to add a Research & Data Analyst to their specialist finance and reporting team to assist in both the fund reporting and corporate finance functions.

The ROLE - Will see the analyst reporting directly to the Head of Client Reporting and corporate finance and carrying out the following 2 key areas to facilitate better decision making and board reporting:

Fund Finance

  • Undertaking the quarterly processes for checking tenant static date, for reporting tenant static data to clients and for populating cashflow forecasts with current tenant data.
  • Identifying changes to properties and units, as well as classifying changes in lease data throughout the quarter.
  • Liaising with Asset Managers to update narratives on the overall strategy for each property and on expected future tenancy changes.
  • Liaising with the Asset Management team to reconcile capital expenditure.
  • Responsible for cashflow forecasting in excel and financial reporting.

Corporate Finance

  • Preparing company returns from updated reforecast models on a quarterly basis.
  • Analysing market data and research reports from key agencies.
  • Responsible for controlling all the data from various mandates and analysing returns.
  • Analysing trends from within their portfolio of assets under management.
  • Responsible for quarterly reporting on yield movements, tenant retention rates, rent collection rates, geographical spread of tenants etc.

THE PERSON - YOU should possess previous experience of working in a property research/data-led role, and must possess a background within real estate with exposure to asset level reporting and an ability / understanding of how to carry out cashflow forecasting and performance reporting. Furthermore you should also possess strong Excel skills (ideally to a macros / VBA level) but certainly with an ability to understand complex formulae, and ideally have knowledge of property systems such as MRI QUBE Yardi or Coyote. If you possess and can demonstrate an understanding on how to add to and improve models, reporting and business processes combined with solid analytical skills, then this should prove to be an attractive opportunity for you.
