Role purpose

The role of the Research Data Analyst is to ensure Huntswood produces a high-quality research report for launch in January 2022. Additional responsibilities will be to supplement the team with other compelling data and statistics, (from both open and closed sources) to support in the provision of insight to clients and the industries Huntswood operates in.

Job descriptionKey tasks include:
  • Taking on the role of research lead for Huntswood's 2022 research project including drafting a series of questionnaires working with the team at Huntswood and also alongside a research agency.
  • Following the completion of the surveys, you will be required to analyse the data using Excel and Power BI to provide insight to Hunstwood's Client Relationships team highlighting the key themes from the data sets.
  • Working alongside Huntswood's SMEs, you will be required to write an industry report highlighting the key areas of focus uncovered from the research. Editing and proofreading the report will also be essential before the launch in January 2022.
  • Creation of tailored presentations at the individual firm level (based on open and closed source information) to support the Client Relationships team in the creation of a compelling 'call to action' based on performance and trends noted within the research report. The analysis of data and creation of reports and insights should confidently support and guide our clients' decision making through the buying journey.
  • Provide an ongoing assessment of the wider regulatory marketplace, including analysis of competitor propositions.
  • Completion of Huntswood's renowned Complaints Outlook research project ready for launch in January 2022.
  • Analysis of datasets such as the FCA and FOS half yearly complaints data.
  • Provision of client insight based on key areas of focus / opportunity.
  • Working collaboratively across the business (Client Relationships and Advisory) to import market and regulatory developments to the wider business.
  • A strong ability to work with structured and unstructured data to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis, including trend spotting and relaying information to key stakeholders (through the use of data visualisation packages, e.g. Power BI)
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent written skills and ability to construct a story and series of recommendations using data.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with different teams across the business.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge or experience within financial services is desirable.
