Safety & Risk Data Analyst

Playing an important role in the Group Security, Health & Safety (SHS) team to provide proportionate yet robust risk and safety management across TUI. The Safety & Risk Data Analyst has responsibility for maintaining the Specialist Factbase and supporting both the Safety & Risk Data & System Specialist in the development of Management Information reports and systems and more generally the Safety & Risk Managers
Working within a fast-paced environment the Data Analyst will provide support to team specialists and managers to ensure the department meets the operational standards and expectations of the organization. You will work within the Group SHS function to facilitate, communicate and embed a positive safety culture throughout the organization and work within the safety policy requirements by building strong collaborative working relationships with all departments.

The Management Team for this position is based in Luton & Crawley, however, we are open to applications from potential candidates across other locations and across Europe as we embrace our new ways of working.

How you will make an impact as Safety & Risk Data Analyst
There are many ways for you to get involved:

  • Monitor and update the Specialist Assessment Excel Factbase
  • Work with the Safety & Risk Data and System Specialist to develop recommendations for an automated solution for the monitoring of excursion, activity and transport supplier assessments (to replace the Excel Factbase)
  • Produce clear, appropriate, and timely MI and reports both on a routine and an ad hoc basis and in line with the agreed KPI's for the department
  • Support the Safety & Risk Data and System Specialist in the continued development of the Safety & Risk Data Project using data from both internal and external sources, to provide MI for the reporting and analysis of risk data
  • Work closely with the Safety & Risk Managers and specifically the Safety & Risk Manager - Specialist Assessment to monitor performance against specific KPI's and keep the team and management updated with regular team huddles/communications

What you will bring as Safety & Risk Data Analyst
There is more than one way to the perfect fit - here are some of the ideal things:

  • An up and coming/current Data Analyst with excellent analytical skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including complex formula logic, data connections, power query and Teams/Office 365 integration
  • Strong SQL/Database knowledge including joins, aggregate functions, temporary tables and sub queries
  • Understanding of table structures, data types, indexes and relationships
  • Preferably have experience building and maintaining Power BI reports with knowledge in loading and transforming data, merging queries, custom columns and integration into an Office 365 environment
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Experience in communicating with stakeholders and industry partners in a non-technical manner
  • Effective team working and networking skills and the ability to work independently using own initiative
