Time to be part of something new? We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Data Analyst?in our newly created Insights Team. This is a great role to take stance as a day to day contact for the main areas of the business we service and take responsibility for setting the standards for visualisation and commercial analytical delivery. The Senior Data Analyst?will be responsible for the delivery of key reports and data projects to drive insights and push our business further.

The Senior Data Analyst will have the responsibility to drive the look and feel of the self-service deliverables. They will also looking at evolving what is being delivered and how. A key focus of the role will be to use data delivered by the data engineers you will work closely with and use those insights to tell commercial data derived stories, adopting analytical techniques by the team and incorporating automated delivery.

The application of analytical techniques for commercial use and providing insights is the main focus of the Senior Data Analyst role, and over time they will be expected to spend at least 30% of their time in other teams prototyping a decentralised approach to analytics. Although there is no direct line management associated with this role, there is some monitoring and support of the more junior analysts


Having gained an excellent understanding of our data, you will be supporting our internal and external teams in supporting their customers - working to find the best analytical data solutions to issue across the business. This is an exciting opportunity to take on increased responsibility and more commercially and analytically challenging projects as your skills develop.

You will also:

• Take accountability for the quality of delivery of insights, models and scores amongst other things to drive a shift to visualised data outputs.

• The right data is used to create outputs that are accurate and focussed on insights not numbers
• Set the analytical communications style and standards to be clear, commercial, logical and understood by everyone in the business, including non-data people

• Provide an automated product focussed approach to insights delivery.
• Liase with data engineers to ensure data is accurate and fit for purpose, clearly briefing Data Engineers on what the requirements are.

• Apply analytics in a creative and visual way, cleverly using interpretation skills and storytelling in a commercial context

• Have tenacious attention to detail and an excellent understanding of all our data sets as well as the anomalies and quirks of data
• Define, document and apply the required analytical processes to deliver the plan across the team


With a true passion for Data and Insights, you will have a significant background in commercial analytical delivery, with excellent understanding of the data lifecycle, basic analytics, and a range of analytical techniques e.g, logistical regressions, CHAID etc. Perhaps you are from a retail or marketing background looking for a step into a different industry

Through your experience, you have will have proven your ability to deliver data projects that have made a measurable impact to a business. With a very inquisitive and analytical mind, you challenge the status quo and have the ability to think laterally.

We are looking for:
• Demonstrable delivery experience of data analytics and insights, with the ability to work autonomously and a talent for explaining and visualising the data story, presenting complex information in a clear way to a variety of audiences.
• Advanced skills in statistical, mathematical and predictive modelling with an excellent understanding of data types and data environments
• A degree (BSc/or equivalent) in a numerate subject such as Analysis, Data Science, or Maths with specific analytical qualifications would be advantageous but not essential
• Excellent understanding of required business processes to deliver insights commercially with a good grasp of data technologies such as BI systems, SQL, and databases.
• Proven ability to deliver against deadlines and to a brief
• Experience of MI/reporting and use of analysis tools/techniques - Pivot tables, decion tree analysis, logistical regressions - sound familiar?
• Wider programming/database experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Its more important to have a background in delivering insights rather than programming itself.
