Join us and you won't just be touching the lives of almost everyone in Great Britain - you will be shaping the way we use and consume energy for generations to come.Key Accountabilities* Lead on the development, improvement and maintenance of our regional FES data visualisation platform, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and how these will change over time * Lead on the Regional FES data management - ensure regional FES data is structured, stored and used in compliance with ESO data management standards and procedures. This includes ownership, development and maintenance of a Regional FES Data map* Ownership of the Supply Point FES list and spatial assumptions, interfacing with the network companies to ensure our spatial assumptions are up to date. This includes maintaining the approximate GIS geospatial boundaries associated with each of the Supply Points on the Transmission System. * Lead on the development of our spatial assumptions for electricity, gas and hydrogen analysis working closely with the internal team and external stakeholders. * Work closely with our internal teams to define and agree how enhanced spatial assumptions will be used to improve modelling processes. * Lead the development of geospatial visualisations to support regional insights and communicating to stakeholders' key changes in the energy system * Work closely with the teams within Energy Insights and Analysis to ensure there is consistency in our regional assumptions * Lead, support, coach and mentor others in the team to support delivery of the above accountabilities* Immediate responsibilities driving short term requirement* Work with granular forecast data for the electricity system and compare our ESO data with data produced by other network companies. * Extract meaningful insights on the similarities and differences and help shape next steps following a gap analysis review. * Add additional data files to our scenario visualisation tool which displays regional energy system data in a clear and understandable way. * Work with demographic data and analyse and present trends across different regions of GB with a view to help shape insights that are provided to industry.Knowledge, experience and technical know how* Experience of working with large datasets including knowledge of data storage techniques and maintenance of modelling outputs. * Knowledge of data management standards and procedures. * GIS experience and working with geographical spatial data sets. * Advanced programming skills, preferably Python and experience of GeoPandas desirable. * Experience with senior stakeholder management and working with external stakeholders, working together towards a common goal * Ability to work at pace and independently, proactively driving forward work that matters and adds value * Experience of leading complex projects and leadership of junior team members.* Be able to apply a growth mindset For short term requirement* Knowledge and experience of the energy sector is preferred* Experience of excel and Power BI for analysing trends and creation of insights reports* Experience of spatial data analysis preferred.
