Position Summary:

This role will involve interrogating all lab production data generated from a high throughput WGS pipeline, with a focus on (but not limited to) equipment and reagent performance. Troubleshoots problems of diverse scope and often unknown cause and demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Applies critical thinking to lab production issues and communicates to stakeholders in a timely fashion. Responsible for assuring the lab meets KPIs and metrics in a highly regulated, ISO accredited environment.


Interrogates data to provide assurance on lab performance (e.g. equipment, reagents) and production data quality at all times.
Sets thresholds, monitors trends and challenges outlying data using robust statistical application to inform on production issues.
Takes responsibility for weekly dashboards and visual management boards being up to date with lab data information. Works with the Bioinformatics Ops team to identify needs and gaps.
Leads on CAPA investigations relating to Lab Operational metrics; applies appropriate root cause analysis methodologies to support robust decision making.
Professionally represents the Lab Operations team on all quality issues relating to lab production data.
Networks and exchanges information with technical experts and suppliers in the field to remain at the forefront of any pending issues that may impact the laboratory and our wider customer base.Listed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Preferred Education / Experience:

BSc/MSc strongly preferred with considerable experience in a similar role.
Experience in NGS analysis including the reviewing of metrics and how these link to reagent quality.
Demonstrable troubleshooting experience analyzing data sets with trend analysis and statistical application.
Knowledge of a variety of data visualization tools coupled with exposure to a diverse range of data lead troubleshooting scenarios
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
