Following an internal promotion, Drax is now looking for a Senior Quantitative Analyst.

You'll have the option to work flexibly between one of our offices (Northampton, Ipswich or London) and home.

Our Forecasting team of 7 is responsible for ensuring that our customer demand, gas and generation forecasts are accurate. This enables our trading team to make cost effective trading decisions.

Your dedication and ambition to progress will be supported through training and development opportunities. We have a number of success stories in the team, and with a breadth of knowledge there's lots of people to learn from.

There's no set structure, so you'll have variety in your role day-to-day working on a range of projects across the two external brands. You'll be leading on variety of analytical forecasting activities, assisting with accurate forecasting, hedging and trading of our customers (demand and renewable generation).

You'll need a solid understanding of forecasting modelling techniques and be able to apply analytical techniques in a sensible and pragmatic way. Bringing advanced Excel skills with you, a working knowledge of coding languages will also be ideal (or at least an aptitude for learning rapidly).
