Technical Data Analyst

Description:

Technical Data Analyst is required by fast growing and highly successful organisation based in Kent.

Purpose of job

Provide excellent reporting skills, data analysis and production application support to the business systems team during a major transformation project.

Type of role

Responsibilities

* Management of data held within business systems

* Analysis of data to inform good business decisions

* Provision of regular and ad hoc business intelligence reports to management

* Identification and resolution of data integrity and accuracy issues

* Collaborate with colleagues to identify business requirements and support them through testing and implementation

* Ensure a secure environment for data that complies with all data protection regulations and policies and procedures

* Support business colleagues to maintain data in line with data protection regulations e.g.: data inventory, data retention etc.

* Maintain accurate technical documentation relating to data bases and interfaces for business continuity and reference purposes

* Complete work requests for application systems relating to permissions changes, letter templates, configuration, and enhancements

* Ensure that application support issues are investigated, potential solutions are identified, users are updated, and fixes are tested before implementation.

* Resolve allocated support calls within agreed SLAs, update actions in the service desk system and record solutions in an IT knowledge base.

* Escalate tickets to 3rd line support providers where necessary and work with them to ensure that issues are resolved. Act as a key link between business users and external helpdesks

* Build strong relationships with data owners and business users by providing technical support, understanding changing needs and advising on system enhancements and requirements

* Share knowledge and contribute to the ongoing learning of the team

Experience, knowledge, and skills

Technical Data experience

Experience of using data and business analysis skills to add value

Experience of managing data accuracy, integrity and security

Experience of delivering business intelligence reporting to inform strategy and decision making

Experience of project tasks particularly identifying customer requirements and designing appropriate solutions

Skills

* Ability to proactively manage tasks and prioritise own workload

* Ability to cope with demanding situations

* Ability to learn new systems and languages

* Good accuracy and attention to detail

* Strong oral and written communication skills and the confidence and ability to explain complex technical issues to business users

* Ability to work collaboratively across the business with colleagues who may not be technical and help people to learn and develop

Knowledge

* SSRS (Server Reporting Services) SQL or similar report writing skills

* SQL database housekeeping knowledge (backup/restore, reindexing etc.

* Creating and maintaining Data Warehouses, including Star Schemas (dimensions/facts) and Extract, Transform and Load or Extract, Load and Transform approaches

* Creating and maintaining Data Marts

* Current knowledge of data security, relevant data protection regulations and experience of compliance

Desirable Knowledge

* Microsoft Power BI

* Microsoft Azure Data Lakes and Warehousing technologies

* Capita OPENHousing. Civica Cx Housing

* MRI Castleton CRM, EDRM and Agile 365
