Our AFC team is responsible for protecting Deutsche Bank from financial and reputational losses incurred by financial crimes by assessing, controlling and mitigating risks. Risk types related to Anti-Financial Crime are consolidated in a comprehensive and effective risk management framework that covers Anti-Money-Laundering, Sanctions & Embargoes, Anti-Bribery & Corruption as well as Anti-Fraud & Investigations.

Regulation, Compliance and Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) protect the integrity and reputation of Deutsche Bank. They manage the Bank's risks and help to avoid unintentional rule breaches and conflicts of interest. At the same time, they also advise on ethical conduct, governance issues and keep our organisation up-to-date on regulatory and political challenges.

AFC Modelling UK is responsible for developing and optimising methods and models to monitor clients' transactional behaviour that aligns with the bank's risk appetite, identifying systemic transactional threats to proactively combat financial crime matters, and support Financial Crime Investigation team from data and analytic needs.

As a TM Data Analyst (Assistant Vice President), Reporting to the Director, AFC Modelling UK, you will be accountable for assessing AML risks linked to client activity by supporting the senior data analyst, business analysts (BAs) and project lead on order to detect Money Laundering activity across relevant business lines for UKI in line with the Bank's risk appetite.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the Senior TM Data Analyst (DA) and BAs in evaluating, documenting and evidencing the coverage provided by the existing TM systems (Mantas and Smaragd) with regard to the approved Scope of Monitoring (SoM)
Supporting the Senior TM DA and BAs in assessing the current state of TM coverage in relation to the expected SoM by evaluating any detection scenarios and data consumed by existing TM systems
Supporting the Senior TM DA and BAs in identifying any data gaps and quality concerns between current and future state relative to the agreed SoM
Ensuring coverage validation includes flows between each system, definitions of any codes used, as well as any transformation and exclusion logic
Working efficiently and effectively the Senior TM DA, BAs and any key technical resources to achieve the desired goals
Performing data quality issue root-cause analysis and data remediation activities
Supporting the SMEs (Senior TM DA and BAs) on data related to AFC Modelling technology-related projects
Supporting work to ensure alignment of the Transaction Monitoring (TM) program with internal and external requirements regarding data management.
Supporting Divisional Data Officer, Regional Data Officers, and Data Councils to identify Data Owners within the TM program
Assisting in developing an effective and efficient data governance within the TM program

Skills and Qualifications:

Experience in Financial Crime within Financial Services in a data related role
Strong knowledge of SQL based languages and MS Excel
Familiarity with Hive and/or Apache Spark
Experience in data analysis, relevance and management, ideally within TM
Experience with Mantas and/or Smaragd data models
Exposure to payment processing and associated data structures
Exposure to dealing with regulators, monitors, and internal and external audit
Understanding of global AML data expectations
Results orientated team player working for multinational financial organisation(s)
Proven track record of delivering quality output (technical documentation, presentations, communications, etc.) in a timely manner
Able to articulate findings in a concise, relevant, accurate and digestible manner for varying audiences
Strong written and verbal communication skills
