BI CRIS Solutions

The BI CRIS Solutions team sits within the Capital and Risk Information Services (CRIS) department rather than IT but works closely with Risk IT when required, developing new and improving existing reporting and workflow tools .

Role Purpose

To work closely with the other members of the CRIS team and stakeholders to develop and improve the existing reporting infrastructure.

Key Accountabilities
Work within team to maintain existing or develop new reports, processes, applications and infrastructure to support the CRIS platform goals and reporting infrastructure. Ensuring that information is available and delivered in a timely manner. Infrastructure includes ASP.MVC based web applications and legacy support of End User applications (e.g. Excel, MS Access, legacy ASP.Net), MS SQL Server databases, SSIS packages, scheduling technologies and SSRS reports. Investigating problems with reporting processes, identifying and rectifying the issues, and looking at long term solutions. Coordinating the development workflow associated with new application and reporting requirements and process improvement. This spans documentation, development, UAT, and deployment. Liaising with different stakeholders (Credit Risk Managers/Reporters, Tactical & Strategic IT teams) to develop reporting solutions.

Person Specification
Have solid experience developing ASP.MVC web applications as well as other applications, including Windows services and console applications. Experience of DevExpress tools would be a plus. Have experience developing data warehouses and reporting tools in the Microsoft work stack (SQL Server, Microsoft Business Intelligence). Able to work independently to identify areas for improvement, work with other IT teams and business stakeholders, and develop and implement solutions. Be able to communicate effectively with Business users who are specialists in their own fields (e.g. Hedge Fund team members, Credit Risk Officers), and convert their requirements into technical specifications. Have experience in working with multi-developer projects including the use of source control and issue tracking tools. An understanding of Credit Risk processes and metrics including Basel II, which includes concepts such as LGD, PD, PFE, would be a plus.
