Database Analyst(Bristol/Norwich) Life is full of unexpected twists and turns. But for every situation, Aviva is on hand to make things simple and keep customers protected. Joining the Data, Analytics and Insight (DA&I) team, you'll have a vital role to play. The Data, Analytics and Insight (DA&I) team are a UK specific function, resident within GI Marketing, but acting as a shared support across both Life and GI. Our purpose: 'Providing Governance over Customer Data; Delivering Analytics to Enable Intelligent Decisions that Optimise Customer Value'. Within DA&I the Data and Development team is specifically responsible for the on-going governance and development of the 'Cyclops' marketing database, the development of the Semantic Layer, automation of tasks and the building bespoke tools. The Data and Development team also provide technical support for the rest of DA&I providing the bridge between the business and IT.The Data and Development team is specifically responsible for the on-going governance and development of the marketing database, the development of the Semantic Layer, automation of tasks and the building bespoke tools. The Data and Development Team also provide technical support for the rest of Customer Analytics and Database Marketing providing the bridge between the business and IT. The team is closely involved with all major new projects within Aviva, so you will be involved in lots of new development work. No day is the same so you will need to be adaptable and enjoy the challenge of change.Essential Knowledge and Skills:You'll be proactive with strong ability to see through change and improvement with a can-do attitude and have a coaching and mentoring style to help support the development of your colleagues.You'll have experience with data analytics, relational databases and tools and technology. You'll ideally have a background in CRM or database marketing within a financial services/ insurance environment and be proficient in SAS / SQL (Preferably Teradata). You must be confident with manipulating and interrogating large volumes of data and applying logic to solve a variety of business problems. Ideally you'll have people management and coaching skills, excellent negotiating, influencing and Stakeholder Management skills. You will have excellent relationship management skills with internal and external partners and suppliers. We are welcoming applications from Graduates who have a Strong degree in numerate subject (Maths, Sciences, Engineering) as well as any specific related experience.Additional InformationAll displaced candidates will be given primacy which means that we will still accept applications from employees who are under notice of redundancy (or have had an outcome from a redundancy selection process which has resulted in a maximum of 6 months' work) after the initial closing date until the position has been offered.
