Financial Control Funds Analyst
Description
This role is within Financial Control Funds Management team completing control and oversight of the funds business. The Bank's range of funds includes both UCITS and AIFMD compliant mutual funds and funds-of-funds; much of it structured via a complex manager-of-managers architecture. There are around 141 funds with in 23 fund umbrella entities, all of which are regulated and some are listed companies. Approximately £15bn of assets is managed across predominantly active managed funds domiciled in the UK, Dublin, Luxembourg, Malta, Mauritius and Jersey.This role is to assist with controls performed by financial control funds management area as well as providing support to other finance business areas. To ensure complex daily/monthly controls are completed, procedures are adhered to and enhancement opportunities identified. Actively support delivery of new product and operational changes and to liaise with various parties both internally and externally.Key Accountabilities Support the delivery of robust financial accounting and control activity Review and verify data provided by external administrators relating to fund accounting and transfer agency information Analysis of complex data using sound judgement and initiative in order to resolve problems Oversight of all costs charged to funds ensuring clients are correctly and fairly treated Calculation of revenue payable from funds to Bank's entities Calculation and payment of fees due to 3rd party investment managers Production of Management Information as required by the business Support Change initiatives such as fund mergers and identify development opportunities to improve financial control Identify and resolve workflow issues ensuring effective communications to relevant parties Liaise with internal business areas regarding income and expenses Liaise with third party fund providers, auditors and investment managers Person Specification Ability to apply analytical skills and problem solve in a wide variety of circumstances Attention to detail, with the ability to produce high quality output - Output impacts customers as well as internal stakeholders; attention to detail will ensure the accuracy and robustness of data used Strong communication skills required. Articulate communicator with effective negotiating skills Strong technical fund accounting and reporting knowledge gained within the financial services industry or within an asset management company Demonstrates understanding of end to end financial control/accounting processes and related issues Understands and complies with all applicable governance, compliance, risk policies and procedures Demonstrates understanding of fund structures and industry practices PC/system literacy - Excel skills to at least intermediate standard Knowledge of SAP (Preferred) Demonstrates initiative showing enthusiasm and taking responsibility/ accountability for deliverables Self-motivation - able to operate with limited direction Ability to work well under pressure and deliver accurate results at speed to meet tight deadlines Works well as part of a wider Finance Team and maintains good relations with colleagues Strong attention to detail and accuracy This business is constantly changing and the applicant must be able to respond to and adapt to change Strong academic background Relevant finance qualifications, strong experience in role will also be considered McGregor Boyall is an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate based on race, religion, gender, age, sexuality, gender identification, or physical ability.
