Generation Information Systems Analyst/Programmer

As an Analyst/Programmer within this team, you will be responsible for both application support and applications development activities with respect to the application portfolio.
You will be responsible for responding to reported incidents and requests for advice/information and ensuring a successful resolution, liaising with users and Enterprise IT as necessary.

You will also be responsible for gathering and evaluating new requirements specified by the Generation business community, and turning these into viable technical solutions, whether that be in the form of enhancements to existing solutions or in the development of new solutions.
Working using Agile methodologies you will be required to :-

Provide technical and business applications support
Investigate business requirements in order to identify appropriate and effective applications solutions
Provide specialist technical advice on the suitability and feasibility of proposed application based solutions
Design and develop application solutions to meet the specific needs of the Generation business
Perform and/or support System Testing, resolving defects as identified
Perform and/or support Build and Release Management activities in support of application changes

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

(5+ years) in at least 2 of the following technical areas is required, preferably obtained within an Agile environment:

Development Tools: Javascript,AngularJS, HTML/CSS
Microsoft Sharepoint: Sharepoint Server 2010 and 2016 application development and support, Sharepoint Designer
Oracle APEX Applications: PL/SQL; Oracle APEX Version 4 and 5

In addition to the above an understanding of integration with the Microsoft suite of products would be advantageous.
Educated to degree level or equivalent or able to demonstrate significant experience in the energy or relevant sector

Experience & Competencies

Experience of working within a nuclear regulated environment with a good understanding of nuclear safety and security regulations and compliance
Experience of interpreting business requirements and translating into viable business solutions and ultimately delivering intuitive applications
Capable of, and interest in, developing in-depth knowledge of the application solutions delivered and how, functionally, they support the business processes
Good communication skills with experience of dealing with internal users, senior stakeholders, application developers and third parties
A good team worker, able to demonstrate enthusiasm, drive and a 'can-do' attitude
